真っ只中のタカペンです！
It's hump day today!
この日を過ぎれば
あとは週末まっしぐら！
After today, we head straight into the weekend!
と言うことで、
ほんとにどうでも良い
今日の日記です
And so, another whatever diary from yours truly, Taka Pen.
天気のお話し / The Weather
なんてことはないのですが
一昨日まで半袖で過ごしていたのが
嘘のように
今朝起きたら3度まで下がって
セーターにマフラーに帽子に
手袋にジャケットにブーツに
と着こまなければなりませんでした
Not anything too special. Just wanted to comment what a strange dive the temperature took this morning! Hard to believe that only this past Monday, everyone was out in their t-shirts, and this morning, it's around 41 degrees fahrenheit, so everyone's bundled up in their winter coats and caps.
でもお天気はピーカンで気持ち良いです
But there are no clouds today and it's a bright sunny day, even if it does feel and look a bit chilly.
今までは夕日のお空の写真を
撮っていたのですが
もう仕事終わりの時間では
青空の写真間に合わないなぁ
しょぼーん
I've been so far taking pictures of the sunset, and I was a bit disappointed that I'd no longer be able to do that since by the time I get out of work, it's completely dark.
と思ってたら
じゃあ朝のお空撮ればいいじゃん！
と思い至って撮ってみました
So then it occurred to me that if I wanted to take pictures of the blue sky, I can do so in the morning. :)
1枚目の真っ青が車乗る前
2枚目以降が会社到着してから
The first pic I took before I got into my car this morning.
The second pic on, I took once I got to work.
色が違うのは空以外の物を
ファインダーに収めたからなのか
それとも実際にお空の色味が
変わったのか・・・
Not sure why the hue of the sky looks different with the first and then the later pictures. Maybe because unlike the first pic, the other pictures had objects in them other than the sky, or because the color of the sky really changed...
変わった気もしますが謎です
I feel like maybe it really changed, but can't really tell tbh. lol
さて、本題
So anyway
コブの日 / Hump Day
旬は過ぎてしまったので
もうこの単語を使う人も
いないかもしれませんが
Maybe it's just me, but I don't seem to hear this used much anymore.
数年前までは水曜日は
コブの日
としてプチ祝いされてました
But some years back, every Wednesday, people'd go around sending Happy Hump Day gifs through messengers.
水曜日＝峠
みたいなイメージだと思います
I guess Wednesdays take place in the middle of the week, so it's like once you get over this hump or hill, it's downhill afterwards. Maybe. I don't feel that I'm explaining this really well. lol
なのでコブの日よりも
丘の日、が正しい訳かもしれませんが
Geicoのラクダの宣伝が
ずっと頭に残ってる為
丘の日よりもコブの日が
しっくり来るタカペンです（笑）
So while the original hump may refer to a small hill to be climbed over, I've always associated Hump Day with camels, thanks to the Geico commercial. lol
ラクダの背中のコブのことを
hump とも呼ぶんですね
Because camels also have humps on their backs.
なので峠／丘とコブをかけて
ラクダをCMに使ったようです
I didn't know until today when I looked up Hump Day that the original hump day had nothing to do with camels. lol
何はともあれコブの日！
週の真ん中！ この日が来たら
後は週末に向かうだけ！
But so anyway, Hump Day!
Middle of the week!
After this day, we head into the weekend!
と言うプチ祝い日です（笑）
And so it used to be a somewhat of a celebratory day. :)

やっとコブの日きた！
とやる気をなんとか出してる

So I'm trying to psych myself up by telling myself that it's Hump day!
おまけの小話 / And Then Some
おまけがない日はないのか
って感じですが（笑）
For some reason I always have an extra side story to add on. lol
今日はプチストレッチをかねて
オフィス周辺を歩いてきたのですが
そのときに犬を散歩してる人に
遭遇しまして
During my break, I went to stretch out my legs and went for a short walk around the office building. While on my walk, I met someone walking their dog.
いつもは会釈してスルー
なのですが、わんちゃんの足に
かっこいいーブーツが！！！
Normally I barely say hi or nod and ignore people, but I saw that the dog had cool looking booties on!!
ふぉおおおおお！！！
ブーツ！？
あっつい夏とかさっむい冬とかに
あんよを守るために
ブーツ穿かせているのを見ますが
この季節は珍しいのでは？
Awwww so cuuuuute!! Booties at this time of the year! Normally you'd see them around when it's so hot or cold that the asphalt may harm the dogs' paws. It made me curious why this dog had booties on.
しかもブーツ、何気に
かっこよくない？
人間さまのブーツよりも（笑）
And to boot (no pun intended), they looked cooler than some human booties.
とゆーことで
「ブーツ！ ブーツはいてるのね！」
と声をかけたところ
（日本語でも英語でも語彙力と
コミュ力のないタカペンです、はい）
So I called out to the guy who had to take off his ear buds to hear me. lol I was like pointing at the dog and half shouting, "booties! nice booties!" (Yeah, I've got barely no social skills in any language. :P)
家に戻ったときに犬の足を
拭くのが面倒で、ブーツを
履かせ始めたのだとか
So apparently, they started putting booties on the dog so they don't have to clean the paws each time they went out for walks.
なるほど～
Makes sense.
タカペンは犬を飼ったことがないので
お散歩の苦労はわかりませんし
ブーツ穿かせるのも良いのか
どうかわかりませんが、
人って工夫するものなんだな
I've never owned a dog, so I don't know all the hassles associated with walking dogs, and I have no idea the good or the bad of putting booties on a dog, but it was interesting to see that hey, mankind is always making innovations. :)
と、
And so
とても関心したのでした
I was pretty impressed by the purpose of the booties. lol
そしてブーツかっこよかった
ちょっと私が欲しいと思ったのでした（笑）
I actually kind of wanted the booties for myself, they looked pretty nice. lol

ではコブの日にもなりましたし、残り頑張ってまいりましょ～
