天気と葉っぱとオクラ / The Weather, Leaves, and Okras

こんにちは！

Hellos and welcome dear readers!

さて、先日やっとハロウィン曲の

英訳についての英語記事を

書き終えたタカペンです！

I've finally completed writing my English blog entry about my explanation for the English translation for the Halloween song lyrics. So now I can finally stop talking about Halloween. :P

今日はただの日記です！

Today, I'm just blogging about whatever. :)

最近のお天気 / The Recent Weather

とにかくめっきり

冷え込みました！

The temperatures seem to have dropped pretty big time recently!

２週間前までは２０度以上で

半袖で過ごしていたのに

今週は１０度以下で

何着も着こんでます！

Up until two weeks ago, I was wearing t-shirts and wondering why it was so warm this fall, and the temperatures were in their 70's. Now, though, I'm all bundled up in multiple layers and it's almost steadily in the 40's now.

１０～２０度の気温は

一週間程しかありませんでした

We were in the 50's for less than a week before it dropped to the 40's!

秋どこ行っちゃったの！？

Where did fall go!?

そして昨日からは

どんよりな天気で・・・

On top of that, it's been dreary since yesterday...

会社着いて撮った写真です

These are pics I took upon getting to my workplace.

どんより雲さんだけじゃ

わかりずらいかな～と

地面の葉っぱとか

雨粒の乗った葉っぱとか

を頑張って撮ってみたんですね！

If I only took pictures of the cloudy skies, which would just look like a fuzzy gray blah, I figured it might be hard to convey the wet weather, so I also took pictures of the leaves on the parking lot. The three leaves look kinda artistic, no? And then I saw the yellow leaf with droplets of rain on it, which I thought was kind of cool, so I took a pic of that as well. :)

そしたらオフィスに入って

３０分もたたないうちに

空が晴れてきて

But when I got into the office and started settling down with my stuff, I noticed the sky outside starting to clear up...!!

雲はまだまだありますが

青い空に白い雲！

な感じに良いお天気になりました（笑）

There are still pretty big and kind of thick clouds, but you can definitely see a lot of blue sky as well! A pretty fair fall weather, to be exact. lol

でも気温は９度と、

ちょっとジャケットなしに

お外をお散歩するには

寒くなりました＞＜

But the temperature remains at about 49 degrees so it's tad a bit too cold to take a walk outside without a jacket.

もうそろそろ冬ですねぇ

I guess winter will be upon us soon...!

冬時間の定時上がり / Hitting the Door at 5pm

そして冬と言えば

冬時間だと定時で

飛び出しても空が

真っ暗！と言うお話を

しましたが、一応まだ

うっすらと明かるいです

会社の窓が少し色が着いてるので

真っ暗に見えたんですね（笑）

And speaking of winter, I mentioned that it was pitch black by 5pm. I lied. It looked like it was pitch black because the office windows are tinted. lol

It's actually right after sunset, so you still have a little bit of sunlight left.

と言うことで、先週写メってました

（多分先週）

So I'd actually taken pictures last week when I got out of work.

全く何がなんだかですが

Can't really tell what's what. lol

葉っぱは

秋っぽい何かを～

The leaves, I wanted something autumny

と

so

お散歩する際に

スマホ持ってなんですね

なので屋内撮影のために～

と葉っぱを持ち帰り

写メったのでした

when I went for my walk in the afternoon last week, I brought back some leaves to take pictures of, since I don't take my phone with me on my walks.

２枚目と３枚目は

夕日の残りの明かり？

がまだぼんやりと見えますね～

と言う写メです♪

The second and third pics I took so you can kind of see the level of brightness around 5pm.

４枚目は

あっ、飛行機だ！

写真撮ろう！と

ぱしゃ、と写メって

あとで確認したら

The fourth picture, I took while I was looking around, trying to find something interesting to take a picture of and that would still somewhat show the darkness of the dusk. A plane was flying past, so that became my subject. When I went to check the picture though...

多分少し前に残されて

風に流されてくねくねに

なった飛行機雲さんと

ちょうど重なってて

There seem to be lots of planes flying overhead in this area, so I'm guessing there was one that passed by earlier, leaving a contrail which got blown about, turning it into a snaking trail of cloud. 

まるでその飛行機自体が

ふらふらに飛んでました

みたいな写真になってて

面白かったのであげました（笑）

With the plane showing at the tip of the twisted contrail, it almost looked like a cartoon of a drunken plane wheeling about, which I found kind of funny, so I decided to include it in my instagram upload. :)

オクラの行く末 / The End of the Okras

さて、先週でしたっけ

大きいと、実は食べるのが

大変なオクラを

アメリカのスーパーで

買ってしまったお話しを

させていただきました

So early on last week, I think it was, I wrote about buying big okras and finding out that big okras are kind of inedible.

そのオクラですが

三段階ほどあることが判明

I've found out since then that there seem to be about three stages to the okras.

小 / Small

　標準でおいしいオクラさん

　Your average, edible and yummy okras

中 / Medium

　筋があって噛み切れない

　筋と直角に包丁で細かく

　刻めば、まだ食べれる

　Can't bite through the sinews, but with a knife, I was able to cut the okras into small, edible pieces.

大 / Large

　歯もたたないし

　下手すると包丁でも

　歯が立ちませんでした（汗

　包丁でも切れないって…

　湯がけば良いのかも…？

　タカペンはちょっと

　諦めました…えへ

　Can't bite through at all, and, I was very suprised to find, that you can't cut through even with a knife!!! Maybe, just maybe, if you boil it well you might be able to make it soft enough to cut, but I kind of just gave up... :)

とゆーことでオクラさんは

無事完食しました♪

（一部食べれてませんが！！）

And so, that was the end of my okras. (:

刻んだオクラの写メも撮って

インスタにもあげようかと

思ったのですが

I was going to upload pictures of the cut okras, but...

カツオ節と酢醤油で

ぐちゃぐちゃにかき混ぜた

後の写真で、綺麗では

なかったので

やめときました（笑）

After having mixed them well with bonito flakes, vinegar, and soy sauce, it didn't look too pretty so I decided against it. :)

タカペンはインスタグラマーには

向いてないようです（笑）

Yours truly is not really good at instagramming. lol

イマココ / And Now

さて、現在タカペンは

現在鋭意次の動画に向けて

鋭意お歌を練習中です

Anyhoo, I'm right now in the middle of trying to practice for my next translyrics video!

今度こそバラードです！

And this time it's a ballad!

が！

But!

難しいですね・・・！

Not as easy as I was hoping it would be!

まぁタカペンは歌のぷろでも

なんでもないので

仕事の傍らすきま時間に

練習してるだけなので

一週間やそこらで

完璧に歌えます！

なんて状態には残念ながら

なりません（笑）

Not like I'm a pro artist, and I'm only able to barely practice inbetween work and other daily necessities, so kind of unrealistic to expect to be able to get enough practice in just a week! But oh well!

でもできるだけ頑張ります！

I can only do what I can!
