Looking Back on This Week

Hellos and welcome, dear readers!

Thursday's only beginning, so it's definitely the end of the week, and there's really not much that happened this week, so yours truly will mainly be talking about the weather. How drab. lol

So although the title says "Looking Back" as if there's something of importance, there's really no meat to it. So it's basically click-bait. :P

I'd appreciate it if you would still kindly stick around. :)

Last Weekend

The weather wasn't so great this past weekend, unfortunately. So I kept on checking my weather app to check when it wasn't raining, or at least not enough to be a bother.

And so, I timed it when I went to go out to do my grocery shopping.

There was a lot I had to buy and there was no way I'd be able to hold an umbrella, so I had to be careful.

My fridge was pretty much empty. lol

So anyway, below are the pics of the sky from that outing.

The moment I stepped outside nad looked up

Wow! A nice triangle!

The clouds had an opening that was shaped like an upside triangle, so I was like omg I gotta take that pic

or so I thought but...

all the treetops and the utility poles and lines got in the way no matter how I tried.

Since I wasn't able to take a good pic of the triangle, I also took pic of other stuff like the plane and the moon.

Frost

At the beginning of this week, I was looking forward to getting out and taking pics.

And boy, was it freezing!

All the glass on my car was frosted all over!

The 2nd pic is of the frost covered windshield. I was trying to scrape it off but...

音がして… ><;;;

Whenever I tried to make a dent on the frost with the scraper, it was making sounds like scratching the blackboard with fingernails.

To say the least, the sound was unpleasant enough to the point it was painful, so I blasted on the AC heater to try to melt the frost a little.

And while I was waiting for the frost to melt, I was taking pictures of the frosted grass on the ground.

They did look pretty. :)

During the Day

That day, I took my phone with me when I went for my little walk outside.

So the nighttime pics and daytime pics are mixed in.

I took the daytime pics in the little wooded section that I go to during my walks.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned some kind of tree nuts falling every autumn. I saw those nuts on the trees, so I took a pic of that as well. (The 3rd pic)

The blog entry mentioning the tree nuts with a pic of one is below. It's under the last section, "Just One Thing."

takapenlyrics.hatenablog.com

So anyway, other than the trees and treenuts, I took my usual pics of the sky.

The 4th and 5th pics I thought were kind of interesting.

It looks like they're both pictures of the sun, even though the 5th pic is of the moon.

And for some reason the pics of the sun and moon were blurry. Not blurry due to my hand shaking, but the lighting? made them blurry.

Maybe there was a lot of water in the atmosphere?

It's already Thursday today, and the sun's out just a bit, but we still have a lot of clouds (no more rain, though, thankfully!).

And wow, I've really spoken only about the weather all this time..!

So let me put in a little something that's not about the weather...!

Susemi

The other day, I posted a pic with a question on Twitter.

A while back, I'd gotten a disposable what looks to be a roll of flat sponge sheets.

I was going to use this to clean.

I thought the sponge sheet would inflate once taken out.

Everything was written in Korean so all I could do was hazard a guess based on the pics, and there was a pic that looked like the roll would turn into a sponge.

But once taken out, it was just a very rough flat sheet of something.

Doesn't inflate, and it's got a rough surface.

Definitely not what I was expecting.

So I kind of panicked and tried asking on Twitter, hoping that someone who spoke Korean might take notice of the tweet and respond, but nada.

Come to think of it, after all, I'm mainly following people who study English, not Korean, so that was like a DUH moment for me. lol

So, after a good night's sleep, I recalled that I can just ask at my work place.

Once the pandemic began and we started working remotely, I almost never interacted with people from other business groups, so I'd forgotten that there were also other people in the office other than my group. lol

At the physical office location that I work at, there are people that speak Korean, Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese. The fhirst three languages are pretty major in the area where I live.

So I showed my Korean co-worker a pic I took of the label for the roll of what I was hoping to be sponges. He kept on saying that this was susemi.

His first languages are Korean and Portuguese, and English is his second language so there's a lot more of hand gestures that take place.

He insisted that the susemi is used for washing dishes.

I was hoping to be able to wash the bathtub...!

So I googled susemi once I got home in my the hopes that someone would say it's also good for scrubbing down the bath tub. Apparently, susemi is a Korean scrubber sponge.

そうか

And.

It's a type of scrubber that's pretty rough, so probably not too good for the bath tub...

But, the apartment comes with a dishwasher, so I don't do my dishes by hand...

あう

Darn...

So, I was left with a whole roll of abrasive scrubbing sheets... It's about the size of a roll of paper towel, so... it's a lot...

I'm still hopeful that I can still use it on the bathtub if I rub very genty. lol

And so that's how my week went! Although the week's not even close to being over yet!
