ご無沙汰しております
Hellos and welcome dear readers! It's been a while since my last entry! I guess daily updates would be a tad a bit difficult for me...! Oh well.

ちょっぴり冷や汗かいている今日この頃
Plus I might have been too precipitous when I started preparing this blog and the various social media accounts.
歌ってみた動画を作るのって
なんだかんだ言って工程が多いんですね！
There's a lot more to creating a cover song video than I initially expected!
と言うことで、
今頃にはアップできてるかも！？
と期待していた自分がいたのですが
もう少し先になりそうです
I was hoping to be able to upload my first video by now, but it looks like it'll take a bit longer.
チェックリスト / Checklist
- 歌詞の翻訳 / Translating the Lyrics
翻訳はちまちま進めていたので
なんとか準備はできたんですね
ちょっと満足してない部分もありますが
So I've been working on the translyrics bit by bit for a while now, so at least that is completed. Although there are parts of the translyrics that I'm not fully satisfied with.
- 歌の録音 / Recording
で、いざ録音
歌詞の翻訳中に歌いながら試していたので
それで十分練習になってるかな～
と思ったのですが
So then comes the recording. When translating, I have to sing the parts to make sure the lyrics fit and sound okay, so I figured that gave me enough practice of the song itself. However...
- 音源の準備・MIX / Karaoke Track & MIX
カラオケの音源を自分で作れないので
人に頼んだのですね
で、MIXも一緒に頼んだので、
歌録音した！ と音源を渡したところ
I'm not a DTMer and I can't create music tracks myself. So for this time I've asked for help with the karaoke track and mixing after my recording. Well, now that I recorded my song, I hand over the track...
ピッチ補正していい？
"Is it okay if I fix the pitches?"
と確認されて
ちょっぴりショックを受けたタカペンでした
Was their response. OH.

リズムもどうやらずれてたようで…
リズムが甘い自覚はあるんですけどね
ピッチもまぁそりゃプロじゃないわけですし
So apparently not just my pitch, but I was off with my rhythm as well, so they fixed both for me. *palmface*
I mean I'm definitely no pro...
でもでもっ
but... but...!!!
もうちょっと練習するべきだったか～
とちょっぴり遠い目になったタカペンでした
I guess I should've practiced more. A lesson well learned...!
- 歌詞の為の字幕作成 / Creating Sub-Titles for the Lyrics
SRTの準備はエクセルを駆使すれば良いので
余裕ぶっこいてたんですが
For the sub-titles, I know you can use SRT files, which for me is something right up my alley using Excel. I love using Excel.

- 動画作成
動画作成ソフトがないじゃん！？
あれ！？ どうしよう！？
ってなりました
Wait, I don't have any movie editor on my laptop. What do I do...!?
フリーソフトでなんとかなるや～
とか思ってたんですよ
I was thinking there should be some free to use apps that would do the trick...
そしたら私の調べ不足かもしれないですが
フリーの動画編集ソフトでSRTを読み込む
のってあんまりないみたいなんですね
But apparently, it might be just that I wasn't able to find it, but there doesn't seem to be any free movie editing apps that can import SRT files.
で、噂の（？）これが無料なのっ！？
プロも御用達のDavinci Resolveさん！
これならSRTいける！
There was, one app, the one and only Davinci Resolve offered by Black Magic Design that apparently even the pro's use, and one that can of course import SRT files. This is it...!
と思ったのも束の間
But wait
それ以前にPCのスペックがががが
if it's such an awesome app used by the pros in the film industry, can my years-old laptop handle it...?

So this was just an entry about the baby steps I'm taking with my first cover song movie creation and
英語日本語交互記事の練習でした
another attempt at an alternating bilingual blog entry. (This time instead of writing each part bilingually at the same time, I've written the japanese portion first, then just inserting English portions afterwards. Hence the little additional blurbs in English. Definitely not a direct Japanese-English translated entry. :P)
