Right smack in the middle of furiously fixing my translated lyrics!
次の動画で歌いたい曲の
翻訳した歌詞、思った以上に
修正が必要で、微調整ではなく
がっつり調整してます（汗
I thought I was pretty much settled with the translation for the next cover song, but I'm having to do some pretty heavy fixing than expected...!
軽く口ずさんで確認するのと
実際に録音して客観的に
聴いて確認するのとでは
大分響き方が違うものですね！
当たり前のことかもしれないですが
びっくりです（笑）
I guess it's pretty different to just sing something to yourself as opposed to actually recording and listening to the sound of the words objectively. I mean I guess that's pretty obvious, maybe, but it came as a surprise, nontheless. lol
今日の写真 / Today's Pics
さて、そんな中お仕事も
しているわけですが
インスタにあげてる写真、
いつも会社の駐車場で
撮っていて
なんか、ちょっとさすがに
同じすぎかな
と
運転中に思い至って
So, while I'm working on my next translate and cover song, I'm also have a regular job. And on the days that I go into the office, I take pictures. But I figured the pictures might get a little boring after a while since I always take them at the same place.
よし、通勤風景を
お届けできないかしらん
とちょっと頑張って
みました
So while I was driving, I tried to see if I could maybe take some pictures during the drive.
結果 / As a result...
１枚目はいつもの
駐車場についてからの
街灯とお空です
The first pic, I'm starting off with the usual pic of the lamppost and the sky.
そして２枚目
運転中に頑張った結果
ブレっブレで
何も見えませんでした（笑）
The second pic, I was trying to take a pic while driving, and I think the phone cam shutter went off. So as a result, it's just all a blur. lol
あと、普通に危険なので
もうしません・・・えへ
And since it's dangerous to be playing around with the phone while driving, I'm not gonna make another attempt at driving and taking pics...!
３枚目は一応駐車場で
撮ったのですが
気持ちが焦っているからか
２枚目と同じく
ブレっブレ（笑）
The third pic, I took once I got to the office, but I guess because I was anxious to take some interesting pictures, my hands weren't too steady so the picture came out pretty blurry again. lol
４枚目はなんとか
代わり映えのあるものー
と
駐車場の端っこに生えている
草を撮ってみました えへ
The fourth and the last pic! I ran over to the edge of the parking lot where there were some weeds and stuff? And took a picture of them since they kind of looked interesting. At least they're different from the lamppost...? :P
左手前のしげみは・・・
なんかもにょもにょしてるので
milkweed でしょうか・・・
The bush to the left and front's got some fluffy stuff on it, so I'm guessing this might be milkweed, but I could be wrong. I'm definitely not a botanist. :)
そしてそびえたっているのは
・・・葦？ かなぁ・・・
And the things sticking up in the back are probably some kind of reeds. Maybe.

でも、この葦？っぽいの
よく見かけます
Dunno. But I do know that there're a lot of these reeds around everywhere.
なんか沼地とか大きくて
あまり流れのない川？
みたいなのが周辺に多いので
それでこの葦だかなんだかが
いっぱいあるみたいです
Around here there are lots of huge very sluggishly flowing rivers, and I think we might be surrounded by marshlands. So there's a lot of those reeds growing from the water.
とっても背が高いので
２メートルぐらいでしょうか？
めっちゃ見上げて撮りました（笑）
I see them all the time from my car, but they were much taller than I expected when I actually walked up to them. They look like they're maybe 6 feet or more. So I was angling my phone pretty steeply take my picture. :)
ターキーの日 / Turkey Day!

ターキーの日です！
Anyhoo, tomorrow is Turkey Day!
じゃなくて
感謝祭の日です！
I mean, Thanksgiving Day! :)

Holiday! Hurray!!
タカペンは何もしませんが（笑）
Not that I'm doing any celebration. lol
（テレビでパレードは見るかも？）
I might watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on TV. Maybe.
何年か前、ターキー調理に
挑戦したことがあります
A few years ago, I actually took a stab at trying to cook a turkey. (Bake?)
塩水？につけるために
わざわざ大きな寸胴鍋を
買ったり、
結構頑張りました
I even got this huge pot so I can let the turkey soak in brine. (And which I almost never used afterwards lol)
結果はまぁ可もなく不可もなく
で
もう、二度とやらなくて
いいかな、ってのが
正直な感想です（笑）
The turkey came out okay, but really, I think trying to do a turkey once was more than enough! Never again. lol
なので今年もとにかく
四日連休の間に
お買い物行かなくて済むように～
と月曜日にお仕事の帰りに
お買い物に行ったのですが
So this year, like all other years, I tried to go grocery shopping to avoid having to go out during the long weekend.
タイミング間違えました
But I completely timed it wrong. lol
見たこともないくらい
お店が混んでました（笑）
The store was packed with people doing their Thanksgiving shopping!
サンクスギビングの準備って
数日かかるんですよね
ターキーも一晩だか塩水に
つけなきゃいけないですし
その後多分一日中オーブンで
焼いたりとか
Prepping for Thanksgiving take a whole lot of time. Brining takes a whole day, I think, and the turkey also gets to stay in the oven the whole day or so, I think? (don't remember tbh lol)
とにかく時間がかかるので
逆算すると
そりゃそうか、月曜日も
お店が混むのでした（笑）
So if you think about it, it makes sense that the store is packed with last minute shoppers around Monday.
でもまぁ混んでる中
頑張ったおかげでとりあえず
必須のものは買えたので
連休は歌動画の作業以外は
まったり過ごす予定です♪
But I was able to get my bare necessities amidst all the other shoppers, so I can at least relax during the four day weekend. Aside from working on the translation and recording for my next cover song video, that is. :)
オマケ / An Aside
因みに余談ですが
七面鳥さん
アメリカでは
そこらへん
うろついてたりします
Totally an aside, but in the U.S., you can sometimes see wild turkeys on the side of the roads.
いつも運転中に
見かけるので
写真を撮る暇もなく
あまり観察できないのですが
The only times I see them are when I'm driving, so I can never take pictures nor do I have time to really observe them, but...
結構大きいです
They do look pretty big. I mean they're kind of far off in the distance, and I can still tell that they're turkeys. lol
狂暴だとも聞くので
多分、車の中で
「おお、野生のターキーだ！」
と見てるだけが
安全なのでしょう
I hear that they're not too docile, so I guess it's a good thing that I've been looking at them from inside my car rather than outside! :)
