さて、軽く自分のメモ用に
ツイッターとインスタの仕様について
今回調べたり、試行錯誤して
わかったことを
箇条書きしておこうと思います
I had a lot of questions this time around when I was trying to post my YouTube video on Twitter and Instagram, so I did a lot of searching. Below, I will be listing the things I noticed on the two platforms.
YouTube動画のリンク / Link to YouTube Videos
インスタ
- 動画のURLはただの文字列、リンクにならない
- 直接動画をあげるしかない
- リンクはプロフィールからのみ
- なのでそもそも動画の宣伝には向いてなさそう
- 歌ってみた系はJPopカバー系や実際にライブをしたい人が多い印象
- You can type in the URL, but it won't link
- You can only upload videos directly
- You can link to YouTube from your profile
- Probably not the best platform to direct people to a YouTube video
- Most Japanese cover singers seem to be doing covers of j-pop, and they seem to be people who are actually wanting to perform in person, on stage
ツイッター
動画のリンクを張った場合起きること
- パソコン："/video/1"をつけると埋め込みになる
- パソコン：サムネをクリックするとそのまま再生される
- スマホ：何をしてもタイムラインには文字のリンクしか表示されない
- スマホ：ツイートをタップすればサムネは表示される
- スマホ：リンクでもサムネでもクリックしたらYouTubeアプリで開く
- スマホ向け：ツイッター用動画を準備してる人も多い
- 歌ってみた系はボカロ曲やネット活動の人の方が多い印象
If you post a YouTube video link
- PC: You can add "/video/1" to the link to embed the video
- PC: The video will play within the tweet once clicked
- Phone: URL will only show up as a written link
- Phone: If you go into the post, a thumbnail of the video will show
- Phone: Link or thumbnail, it'll take you to the YouTube app if you tap on it
- Phone: So people prepare a short clip for Twitter
- Most Japanese cover singers seem to do covers of Vocaloid songs and their activities seem to be mostly web-based

It was interesting to see some of the differences between the platforms.
ツイッターの埋め込み / Embedding in Twitter
特にツイッターで動画の埋め込みが
タイムラインで表示されないの、
これびっくりでした
I was most surprised by the fact that you can no longer embed YouTube videos on Twitter timeline.
何年か前まではYouTubeの動画のリンク
そのまま張って、タイムラインで
観れていた印象があるのですが
仕様が変わったのか、私の記憶違いなのか
とにかく、調べたり実験したりして
はっきりとわかったので、
ちょっぴりすっきりしました（笑）
I distinctly recall seeing embedded YouTube videos on Twitter timeline many years ago... of course I could be wrong, so I spent hours searching the web for answers on how to embed YouTube videos so they show as embedded videos on Twitter timelines. One site finally said that no matter what you do, the YouTube video will only show as a link in Twitter timeline, so that at least settled the question!
